< 2. What kind of band is good? >

I believe that the evaluation of a school band should not be determined solely by its performance at the concert. Especially in elementary school, most students experience a full-scale ensemble for the first time, and it is difficult to just sit quietly and concentrate on the sound for a certain amount of time.
It must be really difficult to teach such students how to play instruments and express themselves musically, to develop the habit of practicing properly on their own in order to perform well, and to teach them to treat their instruments with care.
However, elementary school students who are in a good band can do that, and if you don't nurture students like that, you can't have a good band.
I think it would be wonderful if even one child could come to like music because of the experience of playing in a good band. To achieve this, I want to create a band where most of the members enjoy playing together and feel that music is fun.
The fun of such a band spreads to the friends and families of the students who play in the band. A band is not just for the members who play. I think that is the value of the existence of a school band.
The band's goal is not just to perform well at a competition.
Even now, there are bands that practice the same piece for a year and play it at sports days and the like. Do children enjoy playing the same piece over and over again until they get bored?   Among these bands, the sheet music is given to members as soon as the instruments are decided.
In order to create a band that can play the school song immediately after being given sheet music, even if the band only practices once a week, play a new melody every time.
You can create a more enjoyable band with the same amount of practice time.
Let's create a band where students are interested and enjoy practicing their instruments.
